a great night
Rasputin couldn't make it (and never did cover the cost of his and Precious's tickets like he said he would in spite of several reminders, so I'll just grumble that out and be done with it) cuz he switched companies and jobs again (back to the first company) and his news schedule means getting to sleep in the early evening or at least by mid-evening... he's not much of a concert person anyway, but we tried to get him involved in a family thing... in truth, he'd rather watch TV...
but Precious, Dreamer, and I went... we got to the concert early and were able to buy merch (T-Shirts) before heading to the floor... we squirmed our way to the front and Death Cab for Cutie played well and long and came out for a four song encore after the crowd would not quiet down for at least five full minutes... I did a lot of screaming for more...
the audience was quieter than the usual moshing crowd-surfing maniacs, in fact, there weren't many even moving, no less bouncing or dancing... maybe most were self-conscious zombies or something, but we had a great time... and the icing on the cake for me was the extremely rare gift of genuine in-person appreciation from Dreamer (this was one of her birthday presents as Death Cab is one of her favorite bands)...
afterwards it was a late dinner (Precious you are an evil influence on this body) and shakes and then we got Dreamer home a few minutes before she turned into a pumpkin (midnight curfew) and I arrived here bouncing with energy so I came here to write after Precious went to bed (why should tonight be any different than any other night, I offer my sardonic chuckle and hum the prelude to the garden song from JC Superstar once again)...
hey, I didn't say it was an absolutely amazingly fantastically wonderfully wonder-filled night... after all, nobody kissed me (or fell in love)... but a great night, definitely a great night...
hope we all have many more J
