and finally, almost

years pass... and yet, the feeling of the bitter rain stinging the skin, the taste of the near frozen tears, the bone-chilling wind ripping through the clothing, all this, and the wave of numbness enveloping me from the inside out... years can not make such visceral memories pass... for the experience of such intensity is not forgotten without some physical brain damage and for better or worse, in spite of years of experimenting with chemicals and alcohols and mind altering experiences, no such sufficient brain damage has occurred for me...
