stranger and stranger
on the positive side, it seems much faster and the script errors and run time errors may be gone... and the wonkiness in the rendering of the html of the of the blog title is gone too... I shall explore myspace in a bit to see if the errors occur over there and whether the slowness and multiple click necessity is still happening, but the initial signs are quite hopeful and I am almost ready to blame microsoft for everything once again...
IE7 did it all, screwed up everything, Bill Gates is the luckiest person on Earth because if he had the slightest bit of real competition, he'd have been out of business before her ever was even heard of... selling a product that crashes and simply does not work should be illegal, but capitalism makes criminals of us all...
oh yeah, he gives it away for free... that makes it all right then... right... anyway, before I get too far into the happy dance, I shall wander around my usual rounds and see what happens... and thank you thank you thank you for your kind thoughts and suggestions...
well, so far it's YA YA YA YAY YAY YAY YAY and more YAYs...
yes, speed is good, just like at work... windows open in a blink, everything works great, no error messages, hip hip hooray for starting over... now if only the dign in link would work, but then, I can live with one anomalous glitch...
I think i shall sleep now, cuz it's time :)
nite nite

windows open in a blink..wooow.. that's like science fiction to me.
Yay for all of the computer-workingedededness. :)
Glad the new laptop is working out at last. I was going to suggest you remove any programs you don't use or have any use for ... if there is such a thing - since you really do want everything and more.
But hey if you've got enough hard drive and you've got enought memory
then there should be no problem.
As to any links (ie i-tune) don't get paranoid, apple or rather Quick-Time just tries to contact you (continuously & repeatedly) - if you know what I mean).
Just organise which programs you allow and block those you are not happy with or suspect.
PS - holding caps key will open comments in a new window.
i told you IE7 is evil and firefox is competition and if you used firefox and never upgraded to IE7 all woulda been just peachy.
IE6 is stable too, but much more vulnerable to crap you might encounter on malicious sites (worms/etc) while surfing a lot.
reformat the stupid thing, never install IE7 and stick with firefox. you'll be happier in the long run.
other than that, don't fuck around with bittorrent (and other peer to peer file sharing networks) if you really don't have to. it'll open your computer to the world.
it don't matter bittorrent is not in use, OTHERS get to use your computer every time they do a search for whatever stupid file...
there may be ways to lock down bittorrent to not allow others to download anything from you, but still it'll answer search querries, so like, you know, either learn how you can turn it off completely when you don't use it or uninstall it till then.
holding down CTRL and praying for you...
I wanna Twitter with you candoor! Here's a bit o info...Wired magazine's article about TwitterHere's the Twitter home...Twitter Homeand here's me, add me to your Twitter posse!Me on Twitter
mostly working... for some reason Firefox opens by default for links in Outlook Express and other places on the computer, but it opens two windows at the same time, two apparently identical windows... spooky...
IE7 and the plug ins apparently screwed up most of the system settings and software, including Firefox (I haven't tried Yahoo Messenger again yet)...
I did uninstall bittorrent, or at least, I told it to uninstall... there's relatively no trust in computers these days...
but how do I go find all the music and videos and movies and stuff I want? (I mean, what's the point of finally having a computer that can do all that and then not do it?... I'm how many years late for the Napster revolution?)...
Twitter?...
but have we even met? :}
