only two to a cow
I'll ponder that some more behind the candoor sometime..
after work I took Rasputin to dinner for his birthday... his favorite food is steak, so we went to one of the best steak houses in the area (and his favorite)... ironically, it is right across the street from a vegetarian Indian restaurant and I'd much rather have eaten there, but it was not my birthday... so I had one of those things that a cow only has two of...
now for carnivores, it really was an excellent place to eat... I am happy to say that as an animal with a decent physical sensory apparatus and experienced taste buds, I was able to enjoy it, but it is not something I crave or want to do as routine... I like the fact that I don't miss animal flesh when I don't eat any for a while...
humans are omnivores and it's against our nature to try to be herbivores, no matter how ethically right it may be and no matter that it may be the only way to actually survive as a species in the long run (read Diet For a Small Planet for more on that subject)...
no judgements, just survival... and we each have the choice to do as we please... hopefully we'll learn enough to make the choice that is best for us... and hopefully, in the end, we will actually choose to survive...
the chocolate cake was amazing...
nite nite...

Actually if you believe in darwinism and evolution, ie:
we are descended from mudsappers
and somewhere further down the road monkeys, then it is a contradiction that we are carnivours. Monkeys are not carnivours, though they can turn carnivour. Hence according to the laws of evolution man isnot a carnivour, but became one, and in some african & amazonian tribes even a cannibbal eating other tribes and, YES tales of eating some of the first white explorers.
But then again, I think I'm something more than a Darwinian Parody. When I see someone driving a vehicle, I don't immediately thing the driver inside is descended from 'steel' - lol!
But hey, if a cow is going to grow old and crippled (like humans) better to eat it while it's healthy
Unless of course it turns out eating cows is what makes humans old diseased decrepit and turns their brain to moosh in later years - you know mad cow disease.
Ok ok I confess I'm partial to a peace of good Argentine steak
I wish I was making big bux... in the long run (because I'm not working overtime these days), I make less than I was taking home with overtime... the trip does sound appealing... but so does a decent computer and other stuff...
better to eat the humans while they're healthy too? :)
on a serious note, if the cow was out in the field grazing and allowed to do what cows do instead of being penned in a six by three pen force fed genetically altered grain and and shot full of steroids and antibiotics, maybe...
abd yes, Death Cab - love them - will hopefully be seeing them soon (if tickets aren't sold out when I get through to the ticketmaster server at 10am Saturday)...
on the other hand, I've always been a sucker for what is called emo these days... Harry and the Moodies are as emo as emo gets I guess and they are two at the top of my all-time list... but all music has value for me...
ironically, on this list, the song after bananas is pretty much a great kick in the head for the procrastinator-in-waiting in me...
Harry writes story songs, long story songs, kind of like listening to a show... check There Only Was One Choice for a Quixotic merry-go-round that I've been on a long time... and so many others are personal stories or anthems for me...
more music... I love Rilo Kiley... Sleater-Kinney... and others, newer... Coheed and Cambria... Dashboard Confessional... Bright Eyes... Hawthorne Heights... Valencia... Brandtson... some of the bands that get my attention when I take a short break from Meg and Dia...
Precious is standing in front of me telling me about her day, so it's time to go...
