life is a choice
or something like that…
today was a beautiful day… in fact, it was a great weekend… Friday a guy from one of the film groups joined me at the best Chinese buffet in Orlando and then for a midnight viewing of Pink Floyd's The Wall at the local artsy dinner theatre… Saturday was a relaxing day of rest as i imported music on to the mybook hard drive and watched a video or two and went to Friday's for a midnight dinner… really do not have a healthy eating schedule around here, do we?... today was another softball game and i was able to move around a bit more on the mound, fielding a step or two in both directions and able to turn to first and throw runners out… we lost again, 15-0, and that is probably how it will be most of the time… i went 1 for 1, fly out to left and ground ball up the middle through to center, which is great considering i can't run… the team still can't field, so the other team had it easy… i started pitching more aggressively in the third and was able to get two batters to ground out and struck out another… same in the fourth… three of the four ground outs were to me though… the team definitely needs practice at everything… all in all it was a fun, if pathetic, game…
Rasputin and I went to a buffet for dinner tonight cuz i wanted to get some protein in the body for the leg and i did not eat much protein, if any, yesterday… i spend too much money on eating out and eat too much at buffet meals and writing that is supposed to do something to remind me that i know better, so we'll see if it works… i've gotten good at ignoring my stupidity though… like knowing my dietary habits is keeping more weight on this body than is healthy and keeping my blood pressure up higher than normal and i stubbornly stopped the blood pressure medications and currently do not have a doctor to for the routine check-ups and whatever and i'm dragging my feet about changing the habits and dropping the weight… sure, influences around me are no help, but still, it's my choice…
on a side note, my nose started bleeding about an hour before i was to leave for the game… i get nosebleeds a couple of times a year, usually when my nostrils are irritated by a cold or pollen and i am blowing or rubbing my nose a lot… usually it's a one time thing, i pack it, it stops, and months or longer goes by before i become a nose faucet of blood again… today, however, was an odd one… it stopped and did not bother me at all as i was playing softball, but then, standing in line to pay for the buffet it started up again… and it's trickling all evening, so it must have been a bigger than usual capillary burst… no worries, it's part of life for me in this body… and one of the reasons i lay odds on my cause of death (when this body finally dies) will be a stroke… hopefully it'll be a full blown dead stroke and not a vegetative coma type because i'd rather not have strangers giving me sponge baths and wiping my drool (and ass) for years…
are we having fun yet? :)
yeah, so all in all, a beautiful relaxing fun weekend… i wrote some rhymes and sprinkled words into other places and enjoyed everything i did… last thing before coming here to write this was watch Brazil and i have not seen it in a long enough time for it to be mostly new to me (i feel lucky that i can detach memories from my consciousness and experience films as if i never saw them more than once)… there is definitely a classic quality to that film… and the genre is one i relate to well as you probably know well too… one of these days i must make time to catch u[ on reading around the web… and do laundry… and change my habits and so on and so forth and on that repetitive note, i wish you a wonderful night and even better tomorrow…
cuz everything is a matter of perspective and perspective is mostly choice and my choice is to enjoy life so life is fun, even now :)

"are we having fun yet? :)"
please explain
"fun" from an American view.
(( hug ))
just call & you'll find out.
looks like the 11th is all booked out at the rosen, everyone wants to stay the weekend after, which means i'll likely be there 5th through 10th.
the rosen wants $199+tax, i think i can do a lot better than that, tho prolly not comfier, but i think my travel budget for this trip is $1K, so i may just have to go for a neighboring hotel. can you suggest one by looking at maps.google.com combined with knowing the rosen shingles up shitscreek area?-)
a - fun, in this case, was a sarcastic reference to the comment before relating to being in a vegetative coma and getting bathed and wiped by strangers...
z - i looked at google maps and they don't show much for that area... so i googled what i know from memory... if you are gonna be driving to and from the Rosen, then there are a lot of places on International Drive which runs parallel to Universal Blvd which is what the Rosen is on... nothing within walking distance that i know of though...
i'm about 40 minutes from there (longer in rush hour traffic) if you want to crash on my floor or the big green chair and want to drive to and from there...

i'm staying at the rosen for $150 a night, they better have lots of pillows in the room.
i'm also bringing one of your most faithfool readers that you know not of, my dad. that is, if i can drag him away from the computer/your blog.
at this point, because the hotel is on the expensive side, looks like i'll only get approved for 6th through 11th, so that's all working days, pretty much, so if you wanna see me, take some vacation.
How exciting, you cyberians are going to meet IRL!!! I wish I was there! It is so fun to meet people in real. I went to US to meet an online guy, I stayed for a month (did same seminars at 3 universities also, of course).
HAVE FUN U 2!!!!!
we already met IRL 2 years ago, about the same spring time, right now we're just getting married.
a grown-up reads this?...
well I'll just have to start writing more seriously, then, wn't I?...
awww, you'll be here for all work?... boo... you will be a dull boy...
and here i was taking the whole month of april off because i was planning on kidnapping you and taking a boat to cuba to see how things have changed there...
that's a great price for the rosen shingles or even the rosen centre... they can run close to $300 without discounts or special rates... everything's coming up rosen when i search for hotels near there...
wait, i have a fan?...
hi fan :)
ok, i'm over-reacting, he's a reader, not a fan... still, i am flattered and touched and emotionally moved and all...
i will be busy running around on the 6th a bit as Rasputin has the day off and it is my birthday, though that hasn't meant much most years... i do have a softball game, maybe dinner... i'll probably take Monday off... and the 9th i'll be in Lakenland, FL to see Rent on stage... it's about an hour and a half away and starts at 7pm, i think, so i was planning on being out there for dinner to avoid rush hour traffic... i have 6 tickets and still only have confirmation for two of them (Rasputin and Precious are still not sure they'll have $ and usually just assume i will give them tickets, but that's unappreciative one-way street is getting old so the tickets are available and i may try selling them online - you interested in going?)
since you're gonna be busy all day, i don't see much point in taking full days off all week, but i can leave early most days and come down there for the evenings...
are you renting a car at the airport?...
did you tag me in a voicemail?...
how many fingers am i holding up?
a - fun, yes, we shall... even though z is gonna be a workaholic the whole time... maybe i'll crash the conference and learn something :)
I have a choice...always...and ever...And I have fun not always but nearly...so are you having fun? ;-)
Lovely!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday Candoor!!!
and have a lovely
marriage night You 2 ...
(I am always 2 late)
(is the birthday true?)
*lol*
it's all play for me pretty much xcpt mebbe 1 hour a day for freebie pickup time. so take off if you can, at least one day, to celebrate your b'day in style...
howevah, i wasn't able to finnagle the weekend, so i land at 5pm on sunday 6th and i leave at noon on thursday 10th. if you get monday off automatically, because everyone should if their b'day is on a sunday, then show up at the rosen, you'll have my room number as soon as i check in sunday evening... yes, i have a car i rent at mco terminal, so we can put miles on that one.
yay ! . . .
fancy - yes, everything is fun if i want it to be and i usually want it to be...
anna - birthday is in april, the day z0tl arrived in FL...
z - yay... i suppose i could take off the week, but then i'd have a lot of catching up to do... maybe it's time to invest in a laptop and see about getting remote access so i can do some work away from my desk... they will probably throw hospital/hippa rules at me, but it may be time to test the waters and see how much clout i have...
it would be nice to take a vacation for the first time in eight years...
so are you coming to the show Rent on the 9th?...
yay for headache relief :)
yeah, but at what price?... a little chianti with my liver, perhaps... or maybe an exploding kidney... accelerated aging, at least... and suppression of brain wave peaks... it's all over now, baby blue :}
meanwhile, when are you coming to Florida? :)
Touched!
Thank You Candoor,
and we have birthday close to each other ... does it make us closer? ;-)
What do You like as blogger present for Your marriage, You 2 lucky ones?
absolutely yes, but i need 2 tix. let me know where i should paypal the cost.
Hope your nose and leg are doing better, eat more walnuts.
And aw, I wish I would get to meet you guys too, maybe I'll get sent to NY (since my team works for NY)one day by my company for training and then kinda, accidentally get lost on the way, and end up on both coasts of States ..yea, right, they only ever send me to the room across from my desk for training.
But then probably it would end up as me getting a crush on z but z would only pay attention to c, and then I would like start making evil plans on how to split you both up. Hmmm... either way, wish you both a great time, take vids for youtube! :)
z - i have one extra ticket, i may have two... probably do... and that doesn't include the two tickets Rasputin and Precious have not paid for yet (and they are probably hoping i'll just take them as i so often do because i am generous or stupid like that)... i am not sure if they are sold out... i think the tickets were about $60 each as they are orchestra...
p - nose is fine... leg is healing... walnuts, huh?>.. it would be great if you could get over here...
and z is married at the moment, almost twice (which would be bigamy, aye?), so definitely not a wise crush (shall i tease you about how unwise your crushes are sometimes? :)
Wow, this seems to be the gathering place where all the discussions and exciting plans are taking place for vacations and fun and musicals and, might I say, glee. Yay for glee, yay for friends getting together IRL and yay in general just because. Yay for z, yay for r, yay for a, yay for p, yay for f, yays all around (since they're free I can be very generous). I think Q is the only one that seems to missing from this little group, so yay to Q too in case he shows up.
yes, and you should join us too :)
thanks for being you so well :)
