next night, same story
arriving home, I heated up some of the frozen Italian food from the weekend instead of eating the salad I meticulously prepared at work because I forgot the salad I meticulously prepared at work, so now there are two salads to be tossed out in the work fridge (the Friday salad was forgotten too)...
so I told myself it's a gym night even though it's Monday and Monday is rarely a gym night ever since I started watching reruns of Enterprise... I slept through all the Enterprise episodes though and woke just in time for the gym to close, so I came here, or rather, went to myspace to see what mischief words could create tonight (I haven't visited you guys yet cuz that's what I do after rambling on here for a while)...
starting off with missing persons, Serenity is still missing (as is her myspace picture), so I'm starting to draw a picture to send to the milk-carton people... feel free to draw your own and post them on your blogs, if you feel like razzing her about disappearing... we all need a good razzing now and then...
Cali, who might be out there even if she doesn't tell us, is up to her usual wonderful gardening and image sharing... Bandit is across the pond, no not her pond, the smaller one to the East, sharing her wonderfully warped mind with some lucky Brit... and Jenny, who is still not as invisible as she appears, continues to inspire a smile with her posts... two lesser mentioned bloggers I have on my list (on the left of my myspace blog) fill in tonight's reading as toast is still burning, and notsick playing notpie tonight, is as sick as ever... others did not hold my attention long enough to get mentioned tonight... that discussion group I mentioned a couple of nights ago moved on to movies and now to politics (so quickly I didn't have time to think about the movie discussion... it's not really a discussion group if you don't leave time for people to discuss, ya know?... ah, the best laid plans of mice and dodinskys...
and wonderful news, our own hollygl is now a myspace girl... which, in an unrelated semantic leap in my brain, does not mean she is one of the girls of myspace (remembering Playboy pictorials of my youth and realizing that I haven't seen a copy of the magazine in more than ten years, but I do have several hundred from the sixties, seventies, and eighties hermetically sealed in storage for my retirement years... I mean to sell to collectors, of course... which reminds me of my original retirement fund, comics and baseballs cards, a collection that would be easily worth millions today... unfortunately, dear mommy dearest threw those painstakingly protected boxes out when I went to serve my country in the Monterey Peninsula wars of '74, a fine stab in the back for an American patriot, which could be blamed for all the drugs if one was looking for a weak excuse, like in therapy or church or something... but, yeah, I digress)...
never trust the parentheses...
though the secret is that the truth is usually buried somewhere in the babble, especially in the parentheses... and that will be most capriciously denied for all time, or until the one comes along and suggests otherwise... with chocolate, of course... and speaking of chocolate, I found the most delicious jewelry and T-shirt site (who said huh?... which reminds me of one of the cutest huh? of recent years, the Dead Like Me girl, but that's another story)...
back to RealTime™, tonight, while searching for drugs on the web, for Precious, I mean... I suppose I should explain that for the newcomers among us... warning, explanation approaching, hard hats and high boots optional, but recommended...
ya see... Precious was reading and scribbling lighting queues on the script for the show Bare that I printed out at work today (that she'll be putting on in the Fall) and she asked about the letters G and K in reference to drugs mentioned in the show... so I went to the handy dandy drug reference, erowid to educate the girl and found this clever design offered as incentive for donations (like public television, you know) at the Ally Membership Level... yes, you can do your part in helping the good people of erowid in their efforts to provide high quality information about psychoactive plants and drugs and get some really cool stuff) which lead me to made with molecules, the maker of the silver dopamine necklace (my personal favorite, though serotonin is cool too and probably better balanced for a necklace) and if I was a girl again (as z0tl alluded to my previous life as a bohemian Lolita, with and without rhapsody, and not just in blue, but that's beside the point), I'd so want those chocolate molecule earrings... though I'd rather anandamide, but they don't immortalize than molecule yet... of course I eventually found myself at yet another T-shirt site {I am a T-shirt junkie, yea, Hi, I'm ric and I'm a T-shirtaholic, there, I've confessed} where my mind further expanded the amusement I was enjoying on my web journey tonight...
see what happens when I nap?... it's dangerous (trust me)...
for anyone not amused, I hope you find your sense of humor somewhere because you will feel better when you do... it is time to return to the web browsing (or wisely get some sleep, though wisdom is not why we are here, is it now?) and await your erudite commentary... I feel blessed to have such wonderful commentians (I'm not sure if that's a reference to Martians or comedians, you decide) and hope you enjoy yourselves as much as I enjoy you... in good taste, of course, cuz everything's better when it tastes good...
did I mention I had chocolate today?... yes, one of the liaisons (as in clinical liaisons, technically the department I am in until my promotion when I become a department of one, soon to be one-and-a-half when they hire me an assistant) broke open the Symphony chocolate bars she's hoarding for the next hurricane (actually, they are left over from the blood drive she organized because during the few hours of said blood drive the heavens opened dropped all manner of pestilence on our poor den of inequity (aka psych hospital) and when the sky poured frog-sized raindrops down the expected crowds did not arrive and there were a lot of oranges and chocolate bars left over... as chocolate stays fresh longer than oranges, there's still some chocolate left, buried in the secret corners of her office... we all celebrate when she cracks open a bar and leaves it, quite unannounced, on the file cabinet next to the copier... it lasts about two minutes after the first crack...
yes, it is time to go a wandering... or maybe for a run, though it was brutally hot and humid out there today... sauna-level, you know, when your eyes fog up upon first leaving an air-conditioned building... and I don't mean your sunglasses, I mean your eyes... the electric bill for this month arrived today and rose over $200 even with my attempts to turn off lights and keep the air conditioner from running full bore all the time... currently, there are six lights on in five rooms (and there's just three of us and we're all in the living room)... Raspy sits on the couch, farting in front of the TV, which is on mute... I mean the TV... I doubt he notices... Precious sits on the other couch, playing music (the show Bare, remember?)... they just don't turn lights off... though Raspy seems to be turning off lights more often lately... I am pretty sure Precious doesn't know how... and standing in front of the open fridge a dozen times an hour doesn't help... there are never any ice cubes, just an abstract-art shaped block of former cubes... ah, life with Rasputin and Precious, we ought to be a sit-com...
was I going somewhere?...
hug yourselves for me... unless you're not into hugs, I mean, cuz I wouldn't want you to offend yourself or make yourself feel uncomfortable on my account... but try it, you might like it... hugs are good things, really, especially after a bath... or in a bath, for that matter... arentcha glad I don't have a waterproof laptop I can take with me into the bath?... and on that note, I wish you all peace and tranquility, love and harmony, and just enough raging excitement to remind you that you are not quite dead yet, no matter what you may think...
nite nite :)

well it's about time :)
I'm kind of having second thoughts about the "MySpace" thing. Its a little weird to be quite so ...on display, as it were. We'll see.
Thanks for the mention, though. :)
lol Candoor,
"a Semantic leap in my brain"
Love it
Glad to see Serenity has shown her face, seems she's still lost for words. I've been round her places, but her inspirational juices seem to have slowed down.
Hope she's found something for the pain, but without too much opium or dopamine straight to the brain
Aaah cacao
the drink of the Inca gods!
totally understandable Steph, unfortunately the world is a meat market and myspace places right into the worst of the human traits sometimes... it also allows for hope for the best traits too... I might not put much personally identifying information out there if I was a single female, or if I was female... as I mentioned, you can make your profile provate and only allow those you want in to see it and you can use as much anonymity as you like (I thought you'd use hollygl, actually :)
I also like using profile photos that represent me, rather than just a face shot... I see myspace as a way to put myself out there in words and images and sounds in creative ways (as opposed to simply a profile I might put out on a personals site, know what I mean?)... it's a lot like life, there are all kinds of people and we try to surround ourselves with the ones who inspire us to feel good and who make the most sense to us...
some people pour their hearts out there in their blogs, but keep their personal info completely anonymous... some put their personal info out there, but blog about current events or humor... whatever feels comfortable is what you should do with it (as you wish :)
it's kind of like your choosing a nickname for people, if that makes sense to ya :)
have you gotten a lot of friend requests? :)
Q - anything is possible in cartoons... and my brain is pretty cartoony, ya know...
