no time for the sleepy
I think it would be safe to say that there are other people in the world who will sleep very little this weelend because the seventh Harry Potter book came out Friday night...
and the are probably other people right around here who will get practically no sleep because Warped Tour is in town...
I wonder how many people will be showing up at Warped Tour tomorrow who haven't slept yet this weekend because they've been reading Harry Potter...
I wonder how many people will have finished the book...
leaving the details, the who lived (if anyone) and who died (if anyone), story line and the plot twists and conclusions and interpretations (and most especially moral judgments, which are the stupidest responses to creative art I can think of) for another time, I shall say I am sad that the story that's taken a decade to read appears to come to an end...
it was fun...
I think I was much more impressed with Stephen King's twenty year Dark Tower journey and conclusion, but then, I prefer King to Rowling for style and imagination and longevity alone... it was still a story I would like to continue and a world I would like to visit...
alas, however, for the moment nobody wants to talk to me cuz I finished the book... I understand, I didn't want to talk much until I finished it... but it does remind me that I've not had any real creativity other than the occasional concert going with the kids sharing in life offline for quite some time, which adds a flavor of loneliness to my favorite activities cuz I love to share...
so I threw myself a party and invited nuts (an assortment of cashews, pistacios, pecans, almonds), chocolate (from milk to 88% cacao), and dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, pinapples, bananas) and pizza (Rasputin's choice) and munched and read and read and munched and here we are...
I hope you are not as alone as I am (unless you really want to be), but if you are, at least we can be alone together for a moment as you read and relate to these words... I can even try to get four hours sleep before Warped Tour starts...
since I've got nothing better to do now :)
