there'd be so much more life without sleep
new music, old music-friends, and remembering that being in the sun feels good (I have a red forehead) if it's not over-done... the day did not flow perfectly, in fact, it started out poorly and energy levels never really arrived as I stumbled around in a happy daze all day into the evening...
waking a bit later than we'd planned, I rushed to get ready and after driving twenty minutes to the vnue, remembered that I forgot to bring the tickets... another 35-40 minutes later, we arrived with the tickets and got in... Precious looks up at the big board (that tells which bands are playing on which stages) and tells me I have ten minutes to get to the Hurley stage to see Meg & Dia so I rush over, squeeze up to the front, and wait... twenty minutes later, Boys Like Girls comes on stage and starts playing...
apparently there were TWO Hurley stages... so I missed Meg & Dia... sucks, since they were one of the primary bands I wanted to see... I got to the other Hurley stage (which was labelled with four other names, Hurley being the last on the bottom of the stage banners and the one I went to had a big banner with just one name - hurley.com... yeah, the .com was the diff)... sucks sucks sucks...
could be that's why I never revved up the internal engines (or maybe it was not sleeping much for two days prior and 90+ degree sunshine heat and no caffiene in the house... they sold water, Gatorade, Lemonade, and Monster energy drinks... that's it... and they ran out of the Monster drinks in the early afternoon)...
I bopped, but did little bouncing... the heat effected everyone, a very listless crowd overall (some of the bands were not kind about FLorida crowds and that's probably why some of the biggest bands did not come to FLorida this year... the heat, listless crowds)... and my lack of sleep kept me spacey (luckily I like being spacey with strangers in public with music blaring... it's even more fun with friends)...
I did get to see all of Paramore, Circa Surive, Spill Canvas, and a few others... and I did get to see, standing just four feet away from them as they sat and played and sang, Meg & Dia do a four song acoustic set... unfortunately, Coheed & Cambria were doing their set close enough so that you could barely hear the four of them even that close... it was sweet though... I wish they would mature into their talent, make more eye contact with the audience, turn up their energy, find more confidence and style... Dia is so young and shy, she needs to overcome that and find a way to be the front person for the band as she's the singer... if they don't, they'll be a niche band with a small following of devoted fans... but I think they have the talent to be a whole lot more, just need to develop the personality and other stage skills...
I dropped Precious off t her best friend's house for movie night (she'll probably be asleep within the hour) after stopping for food for her, then stopped for a shopping trip for me (impulse, no will power, sleep deprivation is very dangerous to my wallet) and now, I shall eat and sit back and watch TV and fall asleep...
I don't think I'm gonna visit around tonight (but one never knows what I'll do), I'll hopefully visit around tomorrow...
hope your weekend was as much fun as mine :)

Still doing some catching up on visiting...I think I got heatstroke from reading your post. I am glad you got to get closer to Meg and Dia and be around the energy that draws you so much from them...
...if only they really knew what they had.
Wishing you a week of smiles, of bouncing, and always of love :)
