a very fair compromise
alas, I may never have a social life offline again...
I hate it already (smirk)...
ok, seriously, if I do decide to cash in most of my marbles and thrust my savings into this machine, I must be crazy, but I'll definitely enjoy playing with it... the mixed feelings (loneliness wishing someone would share the intimacy of such a sweet new toy with me, opening old wounds related to theft of thousands of dollars worth of computer stuff and life matters that put my literally back at square one of life and not being able to share the healing fully so therein not being able to fully heal, remembering all the missing, longing for the life I once knew) shall not prevail, the excitement and joy and sweet bliss of being free and independent and able to treat myself, at least, shall rise the moment I actually purchase the parts (or the machine) therein actualizing the freedom, being alive, and letting go of some long dragging chains (and then to reunite, sort through, and share the storage stuff, now that would be a good next step)...
yeah, it's a profound step, if I take it... wisdom suggests just buying a $600 or $1000 box and enjoying the instant advancement into the 21st century it would give me... but sometimes foolishness is better... and we shall see... so, ready or not, this is (mostly) it:
so whatcha think?...

C=64! or Amiga5oo
lol... sure, you're a big help... actually, the Amiga 2000 (or Atari 1040 from the mid-1980s) did almost as much as this turn of the century box I use now... Microsoft has kept us so far behind the technology, but then, that's the business of consumerism, like they will stuff HDTV down our throats for twenty years before they unveil the "advanced" technology behind computer monitors that'll have been around for 40 years by the time it becomes consumer available... or like the delay of CDs, or optical disks, or...
meanwhile, is all this stuff above really worth the $2500 price tag it'll probably cost me? ($2300 if I put all the pieces together myself)...
I just want the best I can get that is upgradable and will still be a great machine in a couple of years with a few upgrades...
or is this a waste...
ponder ponder :)
